Costco Development – Epping
The redevelopment of the Costco site in Epping is a major commercial project off High Street, encompassing extensive civil works. The project features approximately 150,000m3 of controlled earthworks, ensuring a stable and durable foundation, along with 40,000m2 of new pavements to support high-traffic areas and enhance accessibility. As part of the development, adjacent existing roads are also receiving upgrades, which include asphalting to improve road conditions, as well as comprehensive landscaping to align with urban aesthetics and environmental sustainability standards.
Ground Science has been entrusted as the Geotechnical Engineering Consultant and Geotechnical Inspection and Testing Authority (GITA) for the project. Our team brings extensive expertise in soil analysis, geotechnical testing, and quality control, ensuring that all materials and construction meet the stringent requirements for safety and durability. Operating out of our Thomastown Head Office, we are closely monitoring the progress and conducting regular inspections to guarantee compliance with industry standards throughout the development process.
We are excited to collaborate with Bitu-mill, the awarded contractor for this significant project. Our team will provide ongoing geotechnical support, leveraging state-of-the-art equipment and a highly skilled workforce to ensure that the Costco redevelopment in Epping is completed efficiently and to the highest standards of quality.
This project will not only enhance the commercial infrastructure of Epping but also improve connectivity and road safety in the surrounding areas. The upgrades to adjacent roads, combined with new pavement and asphalting, will help manage the increasing traffic flow as the Costco site attracts more visitors and commercial activity.
